Beavers get first Pac-10 win in Seattle

With a 27-17 victory over Washington Saturday, the Oregon State football team won its third straight game in Seattle for the first time since 1947.
It was a much-needed win for the Beavers, who improved to 3-3 overall and 1-2 in Pac-10 play, while the Huskies fell to 4-3 and 2-2.

Midnight Madness, the nickname given to the first official day of college basketball practice, found its way to OSU Friday night in Gill Coliseum.
The Oregon State men's and women's basketball teams celebrated the start of their seasons by opening Gill Coliseum up to fans for team introductions and some playful competition.

There were few scoring opportunities in the game, as Oregon State (5-9-1, 0-7) had just five shots, while Stanford (6-5-3, 4-1-1) had only six.

In the early part of the season, scoring goals for the Oregon State women's soccer team was not a problem. The Beavers (8-5-2, 1-3 Pacific-10 Conference) scored 13 goals in a three game stretch and were regularly laying a deluge of shots on goal. But as the competition has stiffened, so has the scoring.
