Body found in North Umpqua River

Douglas County Police and Oregon State Police recovered a body in the North Umpqua River approximately 47 miles from Roseburg Thursday afternoon. The body was taken by the Douglas County Medical Examiner's Office for identification. Authorities could not confirm that the body was that of Jeffrey Schmidt, an OSU junior who was involved in a fatal car accident with his girlfriend, Quinn Truong, on Nov.

Contest brings in more than 41 gaments to annual event
It's not just trash, it's the latest fashion
Garbage Montage, last night's recycled and second-hand themed fashion show, featured 34 designers and 41 garments to compete in the year's contest. The show was organized by the OSU Fashion Organization. The contest, in its 21st year, featured three judges who pooled together to award designer Benjamin Moua's paper bag Victorian-era top-coat and bottom the first place winner.

Graduation guests won't need tickets

After a decision by the Commencement Committee on Wednesday, graduating students will no longer need tickets for their family and friends to attend OSU commencement ceremonies. Previously, graduating students were allocated eight tickets for family and friends to attend the event.
