For the first time on the Oregon State University campus, International Malaria Awareness Day, which is traditionally held on April 25, has been increased to malaria awareness week.

Having to perform a surgery without any experience sounds like a nightmare, but it's one that OSU veterinary school graduates don't have to experience. This two-year-old program has allowed OSU juniors and seniors in the College of Veterinary Medicine to perform more than 500 surgeries through a partnership with local humane societies.

Budget cuts eliminates state funding for student parents

Student parents may lose the only form of state funding they have
The Senate is considering a budget cut that would eliminate the only state-funded program designed to help student parents stay in school. According to the Oregon Department of Human Service, the Student Child Care Program gives Oregon a limited amount of funds to help students pay for childcare.
