Restrictions, headaches for soldiers
It would not be wrong to assume that on any given day college students visit at least one of the Web sites the United States government has decided to block from military personnel serving over seas last Friday.
The 13 Web sites the military has decided to block include: Myspace, YouTube, Photobucket, Metacafe, IFilm, StupidVideos, FileCabi, BlackPlanet, Hi5, Pandora, MTV, 1.
Globalization: for better or worse
In almost every culture or anthropology class I have ever taken, the new age phenomenon of globalization is a hot topic. Professors inquire in essays and multiple choice questions, what is globalization, who does it affect, is it a good or a bad thing? For me, the answer is unclear, not because I didn't do my homework, but due to the fine line that globalization walks, between increased knowledge and exploitation.
On intimacy
We are a social species. It is in our genes; we survive not by having claws or fangs, speed or stealth, but by cooperating. Throughout our lives so many touch our hearts, and it is these intimate relationships that give us the chance to express ourselves, to go deeply into ourselves, and to feel safe sharing what we see and feel with others.
