Corvallis ranks as fifth smartest city in U.S.

University community boosts Corvallis into Forbes Online Magazine's top 25 smart cities
Corvallis was recently ranked fifth on a list of America's smartest cities, compiled by Forbes online magazine. The list was based on the percentage of people per city aged 25 and older with at least a bachelor's degree. According to the study, more than 93 percent of Corvallis residents have graduated from high school and nearly 48 percent have a bachelor's degree or higher.

In what started as a usual event, an end-of-term concert turned into a bit of a head-scratcher for the OSU music department. One of four display posters, standing about 7 feet tall, disappeared from the LaSells Stewart Center Friday night after the concert for the Symphonic Wind Ensemble and the Concert Band.

On Feb. 26, the director of innovation and waste matters for Nike's Considered team, Jim Goddard, visited OSU and gave a lecture on how Nike is reducing its environmental footprint and incorporating sustainability into its products.
