Summer Movie Preview

For the next three months there are multitudes of great movies coming out. Unfortunately, you won't have Diversions to guide you in what you should or should not see. But don't worry - I am here to give you a scoop on what is hitting theaters this summer. The first batch of movies to be covered fall under the genre of comedy.

Randomonium

Jane Clarke, a 12-year employee of Fox News, has been diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder - not because she spent time covering the war in Iraq as a correspondent embedded with a military unit - but rather because she was bitten by bedbugs on three separate occasions between October 2007 and April 2008.

Arbitrary Argument

The L.A. Dodgers have lost 10 of their last 13 games and currently hold 28-31 record in the National League West. Conversely, the Boston Red Sox's record of 37-25 and their recent 5-1 win over the Tampa Bay Rays give them a half-game lead for first place in the American League East.

A self-made album shines, relaxation is key

In their second album, "The Seldom Seen Kid," Elbow find themselves confronting much more serious questions than they did with their last recording, "Leaders of the Free World." The band has grown a lot since their last album - as is expected when the child count of the members is now up to five - and their songs feel very dark at times as they explore their personal maturity.

Ian Grogan does the 80s

I remember as a kid, whenever I had free time and a handful of quarters, I was at the arcade. The lights, the sounds, the joysticks, the quick mashing of the buttons - they all amused me. Pre-1980 had such games as Pong, Galaxin and Space Invaders, but it wasn't until 1980 that the arcade game took off.

'Sex' hits big screen

Four years after the Sex and the City show last aired, the girls are back in Manhattan and this is where they left off: Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker) left Petrovsky in Paris and Mr. Big (Chris Noth) tracked her down - they realized that they were meant to be together and returned to New York.
