If the Beaver football team played the New England Patriots, Beaver tickets would sell out immediately. On June 17, Eugene Metro FC Select, a men's team of former club players from this area, will be taking on Juventus, the most successful soccer club in Italy.

As this school year winds to an end, I have just one thought: Is it just me, or have sports as a whole been incredibly disappointing this last year? I mean yes, Oregon State athletics has seen its fair share of good times in the past 365 days - winning another college baseball world series, throwing together another solid football season and firing Jay John.

Robinson adds to staff

Oregon State's newest assistant also has Midwest ties, from Calumer College of St. Joesph
Nathan Pomeday, who has spent the last three seasons as an assistant coach at Lake Forest (Ill.) Academy, has been named Oregon State men's basketball assistant coach, head coach Craig Robinson announced on Thursday. Pomeday joins Douglas Stewart in being the newest members of the Oregon State men's basketball staff since the hiring of Robinson.
