Companies from all over the Willamette Valley gathered Thursday as OSU hosted the sixth-annual High Tech After Hours. This is the largest assembly of the high tech industry in the Willamette Valley. The purpose of the event was for local businesses and entrepreneurs of the technological industry to come together and let people know what they were up to.

Explosion destroys part of Phi Kappa Psi house

A boiler exploded in the basement of the Phi Kappa Psi fraternity house Saturday afternoon, causing severe damage to the inside of the building. No one was injured in the blast, but all members of the fraternity have been displaced and will be spending Saturday night in the Delta Chi fraternity house.

'Top of the Cock' set to re-open next Thursday

After being closed for a little over a year, the top section of the Peacock Bar and Grill - known as the "Top of the Cock" to locals - is set to re-open on Nov. 20 as long as it passes inspection on the 13th of this month. Otherwise, the grand re-opening will be set for Saturday the 29th, which is also Civil War weekend.

'The Foreigner' calls for social awareness
Take a break from midterm stress this weekend with a play. Last night, OSU Theatre presented Larry Shue's comedy, The Foreigner. The performances will run Nov. 14 and Nov. 20 to 22 at 7:30 p.m., as well as Nov. 16 at 2:00 p.m. in the Withycombe Hall Main Stage Theater.

The Department of Residential Education and University Housing and Dining Services recently sent two students - Jason Kniss and Miranda Linville - to the City University of Hong Kong (City U) with the purpose of sharing how residential programs impact each student's experiences at the different institutions.
