Asteroids are answer to where to live in space
In the near future, as space exploration grows, humans will have many places to settle. From the miners who draw ore from the near-earth asteroids around us, to settlers hoping for a home amidst the stars, people will forge for themselves a place in the dark skies.
Summer for fun - not just work - in Oregon
The time is almost here. It's been a lengthy school year and we've had to endure months of rain and cold to get to this point. In a few weeks, after we get those bothersome finals out of the way, summer will officially be ours for the taking.
Summer won't be all fun and games, but we should at least make a little time for ourselves while we work, go to summer school or participate in internships.
Exercise right to vote in this week's elections
On Wednesday and Thursday of this week, students will have the opportunity to approve or reject over $10 million in projects that would transform student recreational facilities on campus for decades.
The projects on the ballot were selected on the basis of a student survey during Winter quarter, and over 2,600 students signed a petition to request the election.

Academics: Bacc Core could help our ed.
Your recent editorial ("Bacc Core bore needs a change," 13 May 2009), implicitly juxtaposes the value of classes in one's major to those required for general education. Such a great divide is not new. Back in the days of the Roman Empire, the roles were reversed.
