Three players from No. 4 Oregon State have been named to the USA Today Sports Weekly All-America team.

Dallas Buck was a first-team pick as a starting pitcher, while second team spots went to outfielder Jacoby Ellsbury and starting pitcher Jonah Nickerson.

Buck, Ellsbury and Nickerson were key players in helping OSU (41-9 overall, 19-5 Pacific-10) to at least a share of the Pac-10 championship.

The Beavers are idle until the NCAA Regionals that will be played June 3-6.

Buck, a sophomore right-hander has an 11-1 record this season, tying him for second place on OSU's all-time list of single-season wins leaders.

Buck leads the Pac-10 in wins, earned run average (1.93) and innings pitched (107). He is also second in the conference in opposing batting average (.187) and fifth in strikeouts (109).

Ellsbury, a junior, finished the regular season batting .415 with 17 doubles, two triples, six home runs and 42 RBIs.

He has only 14 strikeouts all season to go with a .504 on-base percentage. He's also 21-for-29 in steals and an outstanding defensive center fielder.

Nickerson, a sophomore right-hander, led the Pac-10 in ERA much of this season before suffering his first loss of the season last weekend against Southern California.

Nickerson had allowed only 12 earned runs in his first 82 1/3 innings. He finished the regular season 8-1 with a 2.13 ERA and 96 strikeouts.

The Beavers are idle this weekend, but will hold a scrimmage this Friday at 5 p.m. at Goss Stadium at Coleman Field.
