One-Act Festival kicks off
Theatre Department puts on plays directed by OSU students and members of community
Barometer Staff Report
Starting tonight, the Oregon State University Theatre Department will present the 2006 Spring One-Act Festival, featuring two series of short, student-directed plays.
"We had to go out on our own and find plays we liked," said Joseph Nicola, one of the student directors.
The cast and crews for the shows consist of OSU students and members of the community. The performance sets will alternate evenings, with the first series taking the stage tonight and June 9 at 7:30 p.m. with a matinee on June 10 at 2 p.m.
The second series of plays will be performed on June 8 and 10 at 7:30 p.m. with a matinee on June 11 at 2 p.m.
The individual plays last anywhere from 15 minutes to 40 minutes each, Nicola said. Some of the plays contain language and subject matter that may be considered objectionable or unsuitable for children.
All performances will be at the Withycombe Hall Main Stage Theatre, located at 30th Street and Campus Way.
General seating tickets will be available for $3 at the door before each performance.
