"I did Coach Casey's bathroom about a year ago," Evans said. "I made his counter tops look like marble and the floors like poured concrete."
Evans first met Casey thanks to the bathroom job but they later met again at a party. Evans said Casey was pleased to see her because he needed someone to paint a mural of the champions.
"I just took (Casey's) photos and put it together," Evans said.
Evans, who is using unreleased Benjamin Moore paints for the mural, earned an art degree from OSU.
The process Evans will go through involves sketching the photos that she received from Casey on to large sheets of paper and using carbon-copy paper to transfer the drawings.
Evans then outlines the figures in orange paint. She fills in, shapes and structures the figures with house paint and art paints. In Eugene, there is a very large mural of running horses off of Highway 99 East. Evans is responsible for this 100-foot mural.
One smaller mural has already been completed in the men's locker room and the second is being completed inside the gates of Goss Stadium.
A third mural is being discussed for the archway near Goss. The progress of completion is dependent on the weather.
"I am hoping to finish one image per day," Evans said.
After displaying her sketch of the work in progress, Evans pointed out the background.
"That's the fun part, I'm really looking forward to that," Evans said referencing the colors of the clouds in the background.
The setting of the mural will be Rosenblatt Stadium, the location of the College World Series.
"It was coach Casey's idea," Evans said on Monday as she worked on pitcher Dallas Buck's image.
