On Friday the OSU men's soccer team has its final chance at a Pac-10 victory against Northwest rival Washington.
Both the Beavers and Huskies are coming off of a 2-1 non-conference loss. The Beavers lost to Cal-State Northridge on Tuesday, while the Huskies were defeated by the Portland Pilots on Sunday.
OSU is looking for its first victory since Sept. 17 against Drake. The game also will honor the Beavers' four senior players.
"We had a good week of practice," said midfielder Ryan Callahan. "We are looking for a positive performance collectively as a team."
OSU is led by forwards Robbie Findley and Bryan Jordan, who have each scored five goals apiece this season. The Beavers are again without defender Alex Christiansen, who is out for the season with an injury.
The Beaver defense and goalkeeping will need to contain a Husky offense that leads the Pac-10 in shots per game. The Huskies shot total also has put them atop the Pac-10 in goals with 34.
Husky forward Kevin Forrest leads the Husky offense with 12 goals on the year, giving him the most goals in the Pac-10. Forrest is joined up front by Ely Allen. Allen's seven goals place him third in the Pac-10 for goal scoring.
Husky keeper Rylan Hawkins has posted seven shutouts while holding an 8-6-1 record.
Oregon State is 6-19-1 against UW, but the Beavers have won three of the last four games against the Huskies. Earlier in the season UW defeated the Beavers 3-1 in Seattle.
The lone OSU goal in that contest was scored by Findley. UW was led by Forrest, who took 13 shots, putting one past Beaver keeper Packy Deenihan.
"The game will be fun," Callahan said. "Playing the last game at home under the lights and playing with our seniors for the last time, it will be fun."
The Beavers and Huskies will square off Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Lorenz Field.
