In games against Cal-State Northridge and University of Washington, the OSU men's soccer team was once again unable to get a win.

In their final road game of the season, the Beavers (5-12-2, 0-9-1 Pac-10) fell 2-1 to the Matadors (7-6-5). Senior forward Bryan Jordan scored the Beavers' lone goal.

The Beavers returned to Lorenz Field Friday to match up with Northwest rival UW (12-6-1, 4-5-1 Pac-10). The game was physical, sloppy and very wet for both teams.

The pitch was chewed up from a women's game prior to the men's game, it was also drenched as rain poured from the sky. The field became very slippery affecting players for each team as well as the ball: the ball would skip quickly after touching wet spots and throughout the game the ball would slide past players out of bounds.

The game began with a ceremony honoring the four Beaver seniors, defender Matt Bowman, midfielder Lucas Egenwall, forwards Robbie Findley and Jordan. The four seniors played the entire game for the Beavers in front of a crowd that featured their families, including Egenwall's father from Sweden.

"I have mixed feelings, I think we played great and I had a lot of fun out there," Egenwall said. "But it was my last game so it is kind of emotional in a way. I do not want to get sentimental when everyone is saying goodbye. We are such a family and it is like saying bye to your brother or sister."

"I will have good memories," Jordan said. "We all played a good game, all of us seniors. This team gave us a lot to remember."

The rivalry between the two teams was apparent from the beginning of what became a very physical game. The physical play led to three yellow cards and two penalty shots.

"Before the game the guys had it," Jordan said. "We came out and played our game."

The scoreless first period featured very few shots as both teams adjusted to each other and the conditions. The Beavers two best chances at goals came from the Webb twins. Forward Nick Webb took the ball past multiple Husky defenders but was unable to get a shot off before the ball made its way out of bounds. Midfielder Mason Webb took a hard long shot but had it sail wide.
