Swimmers finish seventh at Pacific-10 Championships

Long Beach, Calif. - The Oregon State swim team finished the season seventh in the Pac-10 with 471 points. Arizona won the Pac-10 with 1481.5 points.

The day began with the 1,650 Yard Freestyle. Sandy Hong was the top Beaver, finishing 15th overall (16:50.31). Hong's time is the second fastest in school history.

After no Beavers reached the finals in the 200 Back or 100 Free, Megan Evans finished 11th in the 200 Breast (2:16.75). Evans was followed by Felicia Castaneda in 15th (2:17.66).

In the most exciting event of the day, Saori Haruguchi finished fifth in the 200 Fly (1:56.24), setting a school record. Kayla Rawlings was close by, finishing 11th overall (2:01.23).

The final event of the day was in the 400 Relay. The Beavers set school records 800 Free and 200 Medley Relay on Wednesday and did not disappoint Monday night. The grouping of Haruguchi, Castaneda, Rawlings, and Crandall finished eighth overall (3:26.44).

The Arizona Wildcats finished first with 1,481.5 points.
