Brooke Barclay and the No. 10 Beavers will go for their fourth straight meet of hitting the 196-point barrier tonight when they go up against No. 29 BYU and No. 34 Utah State.

No. 10 Oregon State will have one last chance to compete on the road before the Pac-10 Championships in Tempe, Ariz.

This Friday, the Beavers will take on Utah State and BYU in a triangular meet in Provo, Utah. So far, Oregon State has competed very well in a string of away meets, reaching the 196 point (196.475) for the third consecutive time last weekend against Boise State, Seattle Pacific and UC-Davis.

"They did a really good job of staying focused and bringing in another mid-196 score." coach Tanya Chaplin said. "We had a few stumbles here and there it wasn't our best performance on floor. A few other things happened here and there that we can clean up to increase our scoring potential."

The ever-consistent Jami Lanz competed exceedingly well to score her career best in the all-around, 39.575, to place her eighth in the nation.

"It didn't feel like the best meet, everything felt good, but there are some things that I know I need to fix," Lanz said.

Among Oregon State's competition this weekend is BYU, currently ranked 29th in the nation. The Cougars have a No. 10 ranking on the balance beam with their top beam competitor, Dayna Smart, taking the No. 11 ranking on that event. Smart also scored a 39.5 in the all-around at the Cougars' meet last weekend. Other acknowledged gymnasts include Kiki Berrett, Danielle Goldman, Jenna Kerbis, and the Cougars' top bars worker, Kylee Draper.

The Beavers have seemed to find their niche in the last meets with consistently high scores. Coach Chaplin described the progress that the gymnasts have made so far this season left them in a good position for the rest of their scheduled meets leading up to the Pac-10 Championships.

"I think we are exactly where we should be." All-American Tasha Smith said. "We have three more meets before the Pac-10's and I think that is perfect. Three is enough to know where we are and what we need to have fixed."
