At least two Corvallis locations were busted for drugs, cash and guns Wednesday, Mar. 14, after the Corvallis Police Department - in a cooperative effort - served search warrants in the Mid-Willamette Valley.
The raids found that La Poderosa Mexican Store, located at 1411 N.W. 9th St., and Gregorios Auto Body, located at 4079 S.E. 3rd St., in Corvallis "were used as cover for the drug trafficking and money laundering operations of the organization," according to a Corvallis Police Department press release.
At this time, information on only three sites that were raided is being released. De Valle Mexican store located in Independence was also raided. Information on the quantities of drugs, weapons and money has not yet been determined.
"We are still executing search warrants right now," said Capt. Jon Sassaman of CPD. "We do expect to have more arrests made."
Sassaman explained that as the investigation continues, it may create need for more arrest and search warrants.
"The on-going investigation depicted that in a given week between 6 to 10 pounds of methamphetamine, plus 1 to 2 kilo's of cocaine were being distributed through this organization to buyers throughout the mid-valley area," the press release said.
The task force consisted of members from the Oregon Department of Justice, the Benton County District Attorney's Office, the Oregon State Police Meth. Initiative Tase Force, the Albany Police Department, the Benton County Sheriff's Office and others.
"We know that by preventing this volume of illegal drugs from reaching the streets, completely disrupting and dismantling the drug organization, we have severely impacted the supply and availability of Methamphetamine and Cocaine in the mid-valley," according to the press release.
