Arrests
10:40 p.m., Wednesday, May 9 - OSU student Tyler Samples, 19, was seen burning some substance on the fifth floor of the parking garage. When he was approached, his backpack was searched. Officers found 4.7 ounces of marijuana, a digital scale, $383 in cash, several marijuana seeds and a grinder. In his jacket, officers found nine grams of marijuana and a glass pipe. Samples admitted to selling marijuana to his "close friends" since January of this year. Samples was cited and released for first-degree procession and delivery of an controlled substance.
1:59 a.m., Wednesday, May 9 - Officers responded to a domestic dispute on N.W. Fillmore Avenue. The dispute involved Harley Tate, 26, and OSU student Jessica Sharpless, 23. Sharpless charged one of the officers and had to be forcibly restrained. While this was happening, Tate verbally attacked the officers enough so one officer discharged his taser, striking Tate in the chest with both probes. Both Tate and Sharpless where cited with interfering with a officer and Sharpless was also cited with attempted assault on a officer.
12:47 a.m., Thursday, May 10 - OSU student Noe Lopez was cited for trespassing after being seen in the backyard of a house on N.W. Harrison Boulevard. According to the five college-aged females who live in the house, Lopez was spying on them with his hands near his genitals. Lopez claimed to be simply urinating in their backyard. Lopez was transported to Benton County jail.
6:01 p.m., Saturday, May 12 - Scott Bahensky was cited for driving under the influence of intoxicants on Mary's Peak Road. He was pulled over for driving in the eastbound lane while driving westbound. His blood alcohol content was 0.29 percent.
11:45 p.m., Sunday, May 13 - Kenneth Shine, 23, was cited for DUII controlled substance, unlawful possession of methamphetamine and two counts of reckless endangerment. He was stopped for a moving violation on N.W. Sycamore Avenue. When police searched his car they discovered 1.6 grams of methamphetamine.
1:51 a.m., Tuesday, May 15 - OSU student Michael Schmidt was cited for a DUII controlled substance and two counts of endangerment. He was stopped for a moving violation on N.W. 16th Street. When the police searched the vehicle they discovered two grams of marijuana.
12:18 a.m., Wednesday, May 16 - OSU student Evan Kawashima was cited for a DUII. He was stopped on N.W. Grant Avenue for a moving violation. Kawashima's BAC was 0.07 percent.
1:41 a.m., Wednesday, May 16 - OSU student Anne Sims was cited for a DUII. She was stopped on 16th Street after committing moving violations. She had a BAC of 0.13 percent.
Theft
6:27 p.m., Thursday, May 10 - Billy Gill, 33, was arrested for second degree theft and attempt to flee in vehicle. Gill stole a brown Ford van. He was first observed at N.W. 23rd and Monroe Avenue. When he would not pull over, he was pursued at high speed until eventually spike strips caused his tier to burst on Highway 20.
Friday, May 11 - Eighteen Mac computer monitors were stolen from the second floor Weniger computer lab. The doorknob had been forcibly removed to allow entrance.
Saturday, May 12 - The rear window of a 1993 blue Toyota was broken while the car was parked in the parking lot south of the crop and soil sciences building. The suspect had attempted to remove the CD player but had failed.
