Missing Delta Chi statue recovered
CPD found missing statue, Rosencrans, inside the basement

After months of searching, the missing statue of the Delta Chi fraternity was located last night.
"It's awesome," said Kyle Waletich, president of Delta Chi, "it's irreplacable."
Rosencrans, the unofficial mascot of Delta Chi, was reported stolen during the end of spring term. An insurance company had recently offered a $5,000 reward for the return of the statue.,
According to a Corvallis Police Department media release, CPD detectives and the Street Crimes Unit found the three-foot tall statue in the basement of the residence of Marcus Annis.
Annis was arrested and transported to the Benton County Jail and charged with burglary in the first degree and theft in the first degree.
Around 4:30 p.m., police responded to to a residence at 402 NW 10th Street. Waletich said Detective James Poole received a tip stating that Annis had the stolen statue. CPD found the statue still intact and in good condition.
The statue is currerntly located in CPD's evidence locker. Waletich said the statue still needs to be fingerprinted.
The case is still under investigation. Anybody with information related to the case of Delta Chi's stolen statue is encouraged to contact Detective Pooles at 541-766-6924.
