The Oregon State men's golf team concluded action at the Big 10/Pac-10 Challenge as James Allenby lead the Beavers with a fifth-place finish at the event.

Oregon State ended the day in the same place in which it started as the Beavers finished with a round three score of 15 over par to finish in seventh place with a three-round total of 907 (300-304-303).

The Beavers were led by Allenby, who finished the tournament at two over (68-74-76=218) for his third top-five finish of the fall. Alex Williams finished 12 over (228), Diego Velasquez finished 15 over (231), while Vincent Johnson and Paul Peterson both finished 20 over (236).

The Pac-10 held on to defeat the Big 10 by a single point in match play, 30 1/2 to 29 1/2, as the Big Ten/Pac-10 Challenge wrapped up Monday afternoon.

Regulation scoring was kept for team and individual tournament standings, while the conference challenge winner was decided by 60 match play pairings. The Pac-10 now leads the all-time conference challenge series, 3-1.

The newly launched Big Ten Network will provide tournament coverage and air a recap show on a tape-delayed basis. Air times are 4 p.m. on Nov. 4 (debut), 11 a.m. on Nov. 6 (repeat) and 10 a.m. on Nov. 9 (repeat).
