Dad's Weekend is usually the time to catch up with family, and to get to know everyone a little better.

"I really look forward to this time of the year," said Nadine's father, Clark Honda.

"I definitely think it's a really good thing that the school puts on for parents. Being a parent, I really anticipate the opportunity to participate with my children at their university," Clark said.

ASOSU Vice President Nadine Honda spent the weekend running from activity to activity with not only her dad, but also her mom, sister, Alpha Gamma Rho sorority sisters, friends and OSU President Ed Ray.

Nadine's family kicked off the weekend by attending Friday night's comedy show at the LaSells Stewart Center.

"My parents really enjoyed it," Nadine said. "It's been a long time since they've been to a comedy show, and I've never even been to one before. I thought was really fun."

The comedy show was probably the event that took the most planning, according to Matt Vancil, MU vice president.

"After Kate and I were elected [as MU president and vice president], we started planning for this weekend right away," Vancil said.

"I went to the 6:30 showing and it was really packed, people were pretty much everywhere," she said.

The weekend can be a lonely time, however, for students whose dads are not able to attend. Being part of an organization can soften the experience.

"I know that some of the girls' parents couldn't come and they still participated in taking pictures and went to eventseven though their parents weren't there," she said.

"But I think people can still have [a] good time by spending time with their friends they love - like the girls in my house did - and that way they can have a fun weekend too."

Following pictures at Nadine's sorority house, her family spontaneously decided to attend the Strongman Exhibition in the Quad.
