Oregon State held a 3-0 lead after three and a half innings, but the Beavers' game with the University of Portland at PGE Park was postponed Tuesday night before the Pilots could come to bat in the fourth inning. Rains began to deluge the playing surface, making it unplayable.

The game will resume on April 23 at Goss Stadium in Corvallis. The Beavers and Pilots were already scheduled for a single game that night beginning at 5 p.m. Time for the restart is yet to be determined.

Oregon State posted three runs in the top half of the third off Portland starter Brennan Thorpe. Drew George scored on a wild pitch, Daniel Robertson plated Jordan Lennerton on a sacrifice fly to center and Jason Ogata drove in a run on a slow roller down the third base line that coddled the foul line.

Right-hander James Nygren started for the Beavers and did not allow a hit over three innings. He threw 58 pitches and struck out two batters in the short outing.

Oregon State gets back into Pacific-10 Conference play with a three-game series that starts Friday at Arizona State in Tempe. The first game is scheduled for 7 p.m., while Saturday's game is at 6 p.m. and Sunday's is scheduled for 1 p.m.

Catch each of the three games on the Beaver Sports Network, Beaver Nation Online (www.osubeavers.com) and Yahoo! Sports.

Additionally, Saturday's game is the Pac-10 Game of the Week on XM Radio. Fans nationwide can catch the game live on Channel 193.
