Response to McAllister's letter

Hear the issues at debate

Mr. McAllister,

I support the Senator McCain who spent five and a half years in Vietnamese torture camps - the very one who refused to accept special treatment while in prison, even when it involved an early trip home. He had five and a half years of beatings to think about the person he is and what he stands for. You will not get a response to the rest of your rhetoric until May 19. Then you can join the rest of our guests in the Memorial Union Ballroom at 8 p.m. and watch the Students for McCain and the Students for Obama clubs debate each other. Students will get to hear the issues, and out-of-context rhetoric like yours will be put to rest.

Possible UFO

Student poses questions to others

On the night of Wednesday, April 30, at approximately 10:30 p.m., myself, along with my roommate Jake Brattain and friend Josh Johnson, witnessed an unidentified flying object travel from west to east across the Corvallis sky. We were standing in front of our porch at 327 NW 13th St. when Jake pointed it out. It immediately struck me as out of place based on its size, appearance and the manner with which it moved, which was reminiscent of seeing a satellite move across the sky in the sense that it just floated effortlessly, only much, much lower and at a much faster pace. It appeared predominately gray, with an unmistakable faint orange glow emanating from around its perimeter.

It was crystal clear outside at the time, and we were able to watch it for a good four or five seconds before it disappeared from our view. As we watched it we got the impression that it was flying fairly low, but the object remained completely silent for the duration, even as it passed almost directly over our heads. Additionally, it did not appear to be falling, and may in fact have been gaining altitude as it left. It was not a plane, it was not a bird and it was not a hang glider. It was like nothing I have ever seen before, period. This is not a joke. If you know me you know I wouldn't make this up, and I swear on everything that is good and right in this world that what I described above really happened. I don't want or care for your opinions, I know what I saw, but I do want to know if anyone else saw it. So, did anyone else see what I have described here on the night of Wednesday, April 30?
