Let's keep it going for baseball season.

Let's keep it going for the fact that Oregon State could probably beat the Seattle Mariners right now.

In fact, let's keep it going for every baseball team that ever existed; minus the Mariners.

It's hard to put into words how much anguish the M's put their fans through. And if you follow them, you definitely know what I'm referring to.

Nothing beats coming home after a long day of work more than turning on Fox Sports to watch Richie Sexson take two fastballs right down the middle of the plate for strike one and two, setting him up for the continually and inevitably hysterical strike three swing at a curveball three feet outside and in the dirt. It happens every night.

In fact, I think Corvallis High could beat the Mariners right now.

The only somewhat productive thing Seattle has accomplished this month was watching Sexson get suspended for charging the mound and flinging his helmet at the pitcher who threw a pitch nowhere near him.

They remind me of a rebellious elementary school kid, whose goal in life was to always screw things up as much as possible. But even when he does do something good it's always followed up by something treacherous because that was his nature.

Hey, just like Seattle. I swear they try to lose games - and then, when they are actually winning for once, they make an easy call to the bullpen for a guaranteed screw up.

J.J. Putz has blown nearly as many saves as he has locked them down. They bring in a new closer every week and their middle-relief has been as effective.

Come to think of it, I think the Nick Lilja Fan Club could beat the M's right now.

Thankfully, I have a solution for all of this. A trade three ways: between the Mariners, the Nick Lilja Fan Club and OSU.

The Mariners need pitching and OSU's Kevin Rhoderick - aside from Sunday - has been lock-down for the Beaver bullpen. It makes perfect sense for the M's. In return, OSU would receive Nick Lilja.
