Rock band Eve 6 will headline "Break Down/Rise Up", a free concert at the McAlexander Field House from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. today.

In addition to the festivities, students will also be able to register to vote at the event, which will be presented by ASOSU and is set to immediately follow the Beaver Community Fair.

The Southern California trio, famous for the hits "Inside Out" and "Here's to the Night," is one of four bands slated to entertain those who attend.

Other bands include the New York-based Cloud 9 and two local bands, Blue Ember and Break As We Fall. ASOSU hopes the event will bring the total number of students registered to vote during fall term to more than 6,500.

"It would definitely help us move forward with the Voter Education piece," said Matt Pennington, the ASOSU executive chief of staff. "We just want to get a lot of people in there."

Preceding the event will be guest speakers Mike Riley, the coach of the OSU Beavers football team, and Ed Ray, president of OSU.

"They're basically going to encourage the students how important it is to vote and get involved," said Kim Konrad, ASOSU Director of Public Relations.

The event was originally scheduled to take place in the MU Quad, but was moved to the McAlexander Field House due to the possibility of inclement weather.
