Scoring three points less than Sacramento State - by herself - sophomore guard Talisa Rhea set a Pac-10 record Sunday as she hit 10 three pointers in OSU's 100-45 win over the Hornets.

Rhea scored 42 points, sinking ten threes to score the fourth-most points in school history as well as setting the Pac-10 record for three point shots. Making 10-of-19 three-point attempts, Rhea scored almost as many points on threes alone than Sacramento State made in the game.

"All of the credit goes to my teammates for getting me open, giving me the ball, and I was just in the right place and was able to hit a couple shots," Rhea said. "We were just running our offense, trying to execute, working on the little things we have been working on in practice, and there is still room for improvement. We still have to fix up a few things, but my teammates did a good job of giving me the ball."

The Beavers opened up an early 51-18 lead in the first half, and Sacramento State never managed to catch up. The big lead gave every player a good chunk of playing time. In addition to Rhea's unstoppable shooting, game highlights also included senior center Tiffany Ducker, who was the only other Beaver to score in double digits, adding 11 points as well as five rebounds and three steals.

Getting into early foul trouble forced some of the younger players to step in when senior guard Brittney Davis and sophomore center Alex Mitchell were substituted out. However, Davis managed to score eight points along with freshman guard Kassandra McCalister. Senior guard Mercedes Fox-Griffin and Rhea each had five assists in the game.

"Tonight we wanted to take and make shots, and I'm very happy with the way we executed our game plan tonight," said OSU head coach LaVonda Wagner. "We knew that they would come in here looking to shoot deep threes. We also knew that they pretty much started and played five guards. And so our defensive mentality had to be one where we stuck together and really helped each other. This is a transition basketball team we played tonight, and the big thing was that we wanted to rebound so we would take away their run, and we also wanted to have runs of our own."

Rhea's 10th three also marked the 100th point of the game. OSU women's basketball had not scored 100 points or more since their 100-86 victory over Washington in 2003. The Beavers' next game is Wednesday at Legendary Gill Coliseum against Houston at 7 p.m.
