Adam "Pacman" Jones is still in the news. No, it's not the expected turnaround so many fans and Dallas Cowboy organization leaders hoped for from their talented cornerback.

After being picked up by the Cowboys at the start of this season despite a number of off-field incidents, Jones was given one last chance by a team who put faith in a player whom other teams would not. He missed six games this season for violating the league's player conduct policy after an Oct. 7 scuffle with a team bodyguard at a Dallas hotel. He missed a seventh game with an injury.

John Barr, a reporter from ESPN's "Outside the Lines" contacted the head office of the NFL, the Dallas Cowboys organization, and Pacman's lawyers prior to airing an "Outside the Lines" that was scheduled to air Sunday on ESPN. According to three Atlanta men, Jones had arranged to hire someone to shoot at them just two months after Jones was suspended from the NFL by commissioner Roger Goodell.

The shooting that occurred during 2007 at a suburban Atlanta strip club followed a scuffle that took place inside of the club. According to one of the shooting victims, following this altercation he, along with two of his friends, left the club. Upon driving away their car was riddled with bullets; however, because no one had seen the actual shooter charges were never made against anyone.

"Outside the Lines" investigated the story further by pursuing the Atlanta Police Department for further information. The APD was also investigating a similar Atlanta shooting case at the time of the questioning and mentioned that several leads had been made regarding Adam Jones' involvement as the ring leader in the hit for hire. Although the case remains open, police are not actively investigating at this time.

In regards to the men accusing Jones, Jones' agent Warrick Robinson stated "He was surprised, and I think he was obviously somewhat hurt. At the same time, he understands the business behind what is happening here." With lackluster numbers averaging just 4.6 yards a punt return and no interceptions, Jones' contribution to the team was hardly noticed.

Robinson also said that he did not believe the off-field problems or suspension drew any direct correlation to Jones being released from the Cowboys. "We don't have any reason to believe at this point that that off-the-field incident had anything to do with the team's decision today," Robinson said. "I know there was certainly a lot of bad that came out of that situation, but there was some good that came out of that situation as well."

I am not too sure what good can be taken from a strip club brawl turned wrong, a six game suspension, no picks, horrible return numbers and being waived from your NFL organization, but I bet Pacman is very appreciative to have one supporter on his side. Robinson's feelings must be mutual, with the best intentions to boot. Pacman's paying your bills, you would stick around!
