One of the best weekends of the year for an NBA fan is NBA All-Star Weekend.

It's a chance for the average fan to see a different, more vibrant side of NBA players as they have fun and let loose during the great weekend. Great events such as the Rookie Challenge, the Three-Point Shootout, the Dunk Contest and the All-Star Game are spread out over the span of three days.

This All-Star Weekend is one I am definitely looking forward to watching. There is a ton of local flavor at this year's All-Star Weekend, which will take place in Phoenix. Greg Oden and Rudy Fernandez will take part in the Rookie Challenge, where the best rookies in the NBA challenge the best sophomores in an exhibition game. Historically, the sophomores have destroyed the rookies, but this year could be different if Oden and Fernandez have strong performances.

Fernandez will also take part in Saturday's Dunk Contest, which is one of the highlights of All-Star Weekend. I personally don't think that Fernandez is the kind of dunker that should be showcased in the contest, but because he was given the chance, I hope he brings some uniqueness and flare with his dunks.

There has actually been a rumor about one of the dunks that he has been working on. He would start at the top of the key, put the ball on the ground and do a heel flip over his head, like the soccer move, then catch it and windmill dunk it all in one motion.

That would be amazing! It would definitely get him a perfect score and people would be talking about it for years. As a soccer fan, I know the degree of difficulty of this move and would be shocked to see him perform it.

Brandon Roy is going to his second straight All-Star game as a third-year player in the NBA. He has elevated his game even higher than last year and has been lumped into the discussion of best players in the NBA right under the likes of Lebron James and Kobe Bryant. Roy had a very strong showing coming off the bench last year as he put down 18 points.
