OSU's favorite Playboy Bunny, Sara Jean Underwood, will appear alongside Hugh Hefner in the upcoming indie comedy Miss March.

Underwood, who was an OSU student before becoming Playboy Playmate of the Year in 2007, has a brief part in the movie in which she will play herself.

The premise of the movie involves a high school senior, Eugene, played by one of the movie's writers (Zach Cregger) who goes to an after-prom party with his girlfriend and prom date. Prior to the date, the pair promise to lose their virginity to each other that night.

However, on his way up to the bedroom, Eugene trips down a flight of stairs and tumbles into the basement, at which point a toolbox lands on his head, putting him in a coma for four years.

Upon awakening, his best friend Tucker (Trevor Moore, who is also credited for writing the movie) explains to him that he's been in a coma and that his former girlfriend, Cindi (Raquel Alessi) is now a Playboy Playmate and this year's Miss March centerfold.

The two devise a plan to drive across the country in search of Cindi in an attempt to get her back so that Eugene can lose his virginity, as promised four years ago, except this time to a Playmate.

Underwood, who has also appeared in Epic Movie, House Bunny and the TV show "The Girls Next Door," was only involved with one day of filming, which took place at the Playboy Mansion with Hefner and some of the other Playmates.

The rest of the movie had already been filmed by November 2008.

"In the movie, one of the guys recognizes me and does some crazy things with my dog," Underwood said. "Zack and Trevor are really brilliant guys. It was fun. They're really funny, so we had lots of laughs every time someone screwed up."

Underwood added that she's doing a west coast bus tour with the cast of the movie, but remains unsure as to whether or not she will be able to attend all of the premiers.

"I still have a few classes until I graduate. Right now, I'm taking classes at Portland State University in business and business marketing," she said.

In addition to taking classes in order to finish her degree, Underwood is also working as a host on various TV networks, including The Travel Channel.

"I'm doing stuff as it comes to me. I'm not personally doing acting or modeling anymore," she said. "I was Playmate of the Year and did that whole thing for two and a half years. I recently moved back to Oregon and got a place in downtown Portland. Now I'm just kind of looking forward to living in the Northwest and getting back to my roots."

Miss March will open in theaters nationwide on March 13.
