Basketball wins at Wazzu
PULLMAN, Wash. - Washington State was cruising to victory over Oregon State early in the second half, but Calvin Haynes wasn't having it.
The sophomore guard scored 12 of his 17 points during a decisive 18-1 run that lifted Oregon State to a 54-52 victory on Saturday.

Ortiz an All-American
Oregon State junior catcher Ryan Ortiz has been named a preseason third-team All-American, Baseball America announced on Monday.
Ortiz had an outstanding sophomore campaign for the Beavers, batting .351 with five home runs and 55 runs batted in. He was named to the All-Pac-10 First Team last season.
In fact, it is the second honor for Ortiz in the last week. Baseball America also selected him for the preseason All-Pac-10 Team last week.

Gymnasts second at Stanford
STANFORD, Calif. - The 10th ranked Oregon State gymnastics team traveled to No. 4 Stanford for a triangular meet with UC Davis Sunday afternoon. The Beavers posted one of their highest scores of the season (196.600) and scored 49 points on all four events for the third time this season in taking second at Maples Pavilion. Mandi Rodriguez and Jami Lanz enjoyed a stellar night in the all-around, with Rodriguez just missing her career-high (39.475) and Lanz tying a season-high (39.375).

HENDERSON, Nev. - Four batters were perfect in the Oregon State softball team's 9-1 win over Southern Utah in five innings on Sunday morning in the final day of the Louisville Slugger Desert Classic.

Masterson breaks record
SEATTLE, Wash. - Freshman Casey Masterson broke the all-time Oregon State women's track school record in the indoor mile at the Husky Classic on Saturday to lead the Beavers.
Masterson won her mile section with a time of 4:51.87, breaking the previous school record by more than five minutes at University of Washington's Dempsey Indoor.
