Yea to a beaver being spotted in the Detroit River in Detroit, Mich. for the first time in 75 years! Coach Robinson is taking his recruiting to a new level.

Nay to a lack of parking spots. That was the reason a Milwaukie, Ore. man bit off the earlobe of his roommate during a dispute over a parking spot at their apartment building.

Yea to the effective inter-roommate communication. Let the ear-biting fiasco remind you to not stab, kick, punch, maul or have Facebook status comment wars when your own roommate forgets to take out the trash.

Nay to Lindsay Lohan for looking so skeletally creepy at New York Fashion Week.

Yea to cat ladies for helping the Barometer staff feel better about ourselves. We may be in the newsroom for hours at a time, watching our grades and social lives dwindle, but at least we don't live in a house with 20 cats.

Nay to cat ladies - or rather, cat families - who take it too far. Police this week found more than 80 cats wallowing in their own filth in an Oklahoma home.

Yea to Tiger Woods for having such a damn cute family. Woods' second child, Charlie Axel Woods, was born last week.

Nay to Woods not naming his two children Lion or Bear. Yes, that was a joke, and we know you're laughing.

Yea to how "pulling a Chris Brown" is now a verb, the last remnants of his career.

Nay to Chris Brown in general. Your apology isn't helping.

Yea to Aqua Net. A Missouri woman was shot at by a recent ex-boyfriend (apparently another member of the crazy Chris Brown club) but was uninjured because the bullet ended up lodged in her hair.

Nay to the man who punched an old woman and robbed a senior center on bingo night in Delaware. Is Delaware really that boring?

Yea to Abraham Lincoln. The Times ranked him as the greatest of all U.S. presidents, most notably for keeping the nation together during the Civil War - you know, the usual stuff presidents do. No big deal.

Nay to James Buchanan, who was ranked worst American president by The Times, mostly for not doing enough to stop the Civil War. How one person stops a Civil War from happening isn't known, but he didn't do it. (And since you were wondering, George W. Bush was ranked 37 out of 42, and yes, he is tied for this spot with Richard Nixon.)

Yea to Millard Fillmore for having such an awesome name. Just say it: Millard Fillmore. He may only be ranked 33 on the Times' list, but he's number one on our list of absolutely ridiculous names.

Nay to another year of classes on Presidents' Day. Hopefully our dedication of a few lines in this editorial space to our glorious past commanders-in-chief will convince university administration of our love for all things presidential and give us all the day off next year. Please?
