Survey to assess interest in MU Annex plan
Before venturing through fees process, project managers want to know what students want
Issue date: 2/25/09 Section: News
The OSU Student Funded Construction Team sent an e-mail out via ONID yesterday encouraging students to complete a survey, which, it assured, would take less than 10 minutes to complete.
Surveys like this one, which many students choose to ignore and simply delete without even opening, help the university to gauge student reactions to large and often expensive projects in the university's future, attempting to give students a voice.
Responses to the survey will be kept entirely confidential, according to Ryan Mann, ASOSU president.
Students who choose to complete the survey will be entered in a drawing to win gift certificates to the OSU Bookstore, amounting to as much as $100.
This survey will provide student leaders from ASOSU with student opinions on the improvement plans for the new proposed MU Annex remodeling project and the Department of Recreational Sports.
Since these remodeling projects would incur large student fees, student leaders feel it vital to, in a sense, get the consent of the student population regarding whether or not they would be willing to pay these fees or if they even feel like these remodeling projects are a feasible idea.
While the remodeling projects may not even take place within the time that most current students will still be at OSU, faculty administrators and ASOSU want to gauge the student reactions to make more informed decisions.
Any questions about the project on campus should be directed to the Student Funded Construction Team at questions@osuproject.org, or by reaching MU Director Michael Henthorne or Recreational Sports Director Tom Kirch, who can be looked up under "Find Someone" on the OSU website.
