A survey e-mailed to students by the OSU Student Funded Construction Team will assess the interest of students in a number of projects - including a proposed Student Involvement Center, which has been called the MU Annex.

The story ("Survey to assess interest in MU Annex plan," Feb. 25) mentions two of the projects, but there are at least four, according to team member Brian Collins.

The projects include the proposed MU Annex, renovation of the MU to bring the historic building up to code and two projects for the Department of Rec Sports: one in the McAlexander Fieldhouse and another including outdoor recreation areas.

The story, printed on Wednesday, also seemed to imply that this survey would allow administrators to raise students fees. In fact, the survey is being conducted so that the Student Funded Construction Team can assess interest in proposing a student fee.

On March 4, the team will make a presentation to the Student Incidental Fees Committee. The committee will decide on March 11 if the team can begin collecting signatures to get the projects on an ASOSU ballot where students would be given the opportunity to pass or reject the student fee increase.

According to Collins, the team wants to see if students are interested in these projects. That's what the survey was designed to assess.
