Play in a band? Looking to get your name out there?
"Locals Live" is your connection. KBVR's TV show "Locals Live" is a show run by 10 students where bands can come and perform live in front of cameras to be broadcast over the air on both TV and radio. "Locals Live" is also offering people a free concert. That's right, come watch some great unknown bands perform for you, for free!
The show airs from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. every Friday, and the producers are asking for spectators to arrive at roughly 5:30 p.m. to be ushered into the concert.
If you can't make it, that's alright. "Locals Live" offers live online streaming video through its website, and you can even watch them over and over again via its video archive also located on its website.
"Locals Live" is booking bands for next term, and it's easy to sign up.
Go to www.KBVR.com and click on the beaver picture to the left, then click the "Contact Us" link and either contact the Program Director, Emma Sales, or call the front desk to lead you in the right direction. If you are in a band and are looking to make a name for yourself, this is a great opportunity.
"It's a great chance for everyone else to go catch a free concert," Sales said.
The show doesn't limit itself to bands of Corvallis. Bands from all over the Northwest are welcome to sign up if they are willing to make the drive. If you yourself do not play in a band but know someone who does, spread the word and convince them to capitalize on this great opportunity. If you've never performed on stage or in front of an audience before, this could be a great experience for you. Contact "Locals Live" now and reserve your chance to put on an awesome show.
Upcoming bands include World's Greatest Ghosts on February 27th and Norman on March 6th. Norman is followed by Paper Brain, Break as We Fall and possibly My Life in Black and White. Make sure to come out and show support for these bands willing to put on a show for you, all for free.
