The Oregon State women's basketball team held Oregon to a mere 10 points in the second half of Saturday night's basketball game to defeat the Ducks 70-41 at Gill Coliseum.

"The first thing I would like to do is to congratulate my team," Beavers head coach LaVonda Wagner said. "I felt like this was an excellent display of team basketball tonight on both ends of the floor."

Leading the way for the Beavers on Saturday was senior guard Brittney Davis, who scored a game-high 21 points. Davis had four steals and four assists. She was also 9-for-11 from the free throw line and is now averaging 82.5-percent from the stripe. This marks Davis' 12th game scoring 10 points or more.

"It felt really good to win. I was really happy to be a part of a team that was able to sweep the Ducks this year," Davis said. "It's always a great feeling to beat the Ducks, especially being from Oregon."

The first half of the game was close, as both teams left for the locker rooms at a score of 33-31. The Beavers tightened up their defense in the second half, keeping the Ducks at 4-for-26 from the field and forcing eight turnovers. Oregon suffered 20 turnovers overall, while Oregon State had 11.

"[In] the first half, [Oregon was] 4-for-6 from the 3-point line and we made up our mind at half time that we were really going to take away those looks from the outside on the perimeter for them and we did that," Wagner said. "The game was won on the glass. We knew we had to control the boards and not turn the ball over."

Senior guard Mercedes Fox-Griffin had 11 points, four assists and a steal, while sophomore guard Talisa Rhea finished the game with 18 points, two assists and one steal. Rhea was 2-for-7 from beyond the arc and 8-for-16 from the field. Overall, Oregon State was 69-percent from the free throw line.

"We just executed our game plan tonight," Wagner said.

Oregon State finished the game with 36 total rebounds, while freshman center Kirsten Tilleman had nine boards on the night and senior center Tiffany Ducker finished the game with eight rebounds. Both Tilleman and Ducker had six points apiece.
