Not as strong as Elway where it counts

The first week of NFL free agency is over and there have been newsworthy moves made by a handful of teams. The Chiefs and Redskins have made themselves better. The Eagles have not.
Albert Haynesworth may be the biggest name to move, but it was the guy who didn't get moved that deserves attention. That guy is Denver quarterback Jay Cutler.
This whole situation revolves around quarterback Matt Cassel and Bronco head coach Josh McDaniels. McDaniels spent last five seasons as quarterback coach and offensive coordinator in New England, home to Tom Brady and Cassel.
When McDaniels got the head coach position in Denver, apparently one of the first moves he wanted to make was to try to get Cassel and cast off incumbent starter Cutler. He is not taking the news very well.
Cutler has decided that acting his age is more appropriate than acting like a professional in this case. Unfortunately, he made the wrong choice.
Here is a guy who is 17-20 in his NFL career and stated before the 2008 season that he has a stronger arm than John Elway. Saying that in Denver is like being in Corvallis and saying that you are a better running back than Jacquizz Rodgers. Bad idea.
A professional would have shown up to McDaniels' press conference to show support for his new head coach. I mean, McDaniels was an ex-offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. What do you think he was brought to Denver to do? He's there because Bronco management obviously felt that Cutler needed someone he could relate to.
He didn't show up for the press conference because he was "on vacation." Are you serious? He makes $13 million a year - postpone the trip a few days and be a team player.
Instead, Cutler showed his true colors. They aren't blue and orange, that's for sure.
Now, Cutler has alienated the Bronco fans who, aside from Packer fans, may be the best in the NFL. He, too, has alienated his coach and teammates.
It's for reasons like this that Denver radio hosts are referring to him as a "whiny kid who needs to get the pacifier out of his mouth" and "a little (blank)." Those quotes are courtesy of KKFN's Scott Hastings - and that "blank" word rhymes with "itch."
