"It was a big win," Fox-Griffin said. "I'm glad everyone stepped up on and off the bench. Everyone was supporting us in the community and that brings a lot for us, and I was really happy about that."
A high contact basketball game put both Oregon State and UCLA in foul trouble. Each team suffered 25 fouls apiece as Oregon State sophomore center Alex Mitchell and Davis fouled out, as did UCLA's Darxia Morris and Christina Nzekwe.
Fouls didn't affect the Beavers too much, as they shot 45 percent from the field as well as 75 percent from the stripe.
Sophomore guard Talisa Rhea had 11 points on the evening, including two 3-pointers. Mitchell also scored in the double digits with 10 points and four rebounds.
"I think we have a lot more weapons now, and anyone can score any given night," Davis said. "Before, we just relied on one scorer and now we have an inside game and an outside game, and it's a great feeling to be 19-10."
The Beavers return to action Friday, March 13, during the quarterfinals of the Pac-10 tournament. No. 5 Oregon State begins the tournament at 7:15 p.m. against No. 4 seeded UCLA. OSU and the Bruins split the season series. The winner will play in the semifinals on Saturday. All games of the Pac-10 Tournament are to be played at the Galen Center on the USC campus.
