OSU comes back
PALM SPRINGS, Calif. - A four-run seventh inning erased a one-run deficit for the then-24th-ranked Oregon State baseball team as the Beavers defeated Texas Tech, 9-6, Sunday in OSU's finale at Palm Springs.
"This was an important win to come away with and to leave Palm Springs with," Oregon State head coach Pat Casey said. "We had timely hitting today and really took advantage of our walks and hits."

Runners strong in class
NEW ORLEANS - For the fifth consecutive year, the Oregon State women's cross country team, coached by Kelly Sullivan, has been honored for its work in the classroom by the U.S. Women's Track and Cross Country Coaches Association.
The Beavers currently post a 3.46 cumulative GPA. Eight cross country student-athletes were named to the Pac-10 All-Academic team in November, the second-most for any program in the conference.

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - The Oregon State men's basketball team placed three players on the All-Conference teams, the league office announced Monday. Calvin Haynes and Roeland Schaftenaar earned honorable mention All-League honors while Seth Tarver was selected as an honorable mention selection to the All-Defensive team.

Varsity 4+ leads OSU
VICTORIA, British Columbia - The Oregon State men's rowing team began its 2009 spring campaign on the cold waters of Elk Lake in British Columbia as the Beavers took on the University of Victoria on Saturday, March 7.
The Varsity 4+ was the most successful Beaver crew of the day, notching a convincing 11.6 second victory over Victoria.

Clean Canadian sweep
VICTORIA, British Columbia - The Beavers women's rowing team claimed victory once again against Victoria in a clean sweep for the Oregon State's Varsity 8+, Second Varsity 8+, Varsity 4+ and Novice 8+ boats. The highlight of the regatta was the V4+ boat as it battled its way to a .6 second win from behind.
