Dynamic duo
WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Oregon State junior Mandi Rodriguez and freshman Leslie Mak garnered Pac-10 Gymnast of the Week and Pac-10 Special Performance of the Week accolades, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today. The honors are for the week of March 3-9. After career nights and a combined five-event victories by the pair, the Beavers finished the night with the team's third-highest score in school history (197.500) and third-best team performance in the nation this season.
The Pac-10 nod is Rodriguez's fourth this season. She has twice claimed both Gymnast of the Week and Special Performance of the Week. Mak has won her honor three times this season.

Coach Robinson honored
ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Oregon State head men's basketball coach Craig Robinson has been named the U.S. Basketball Writers Association District IX Coach of the Year, the organization announced on Tuesday.
In his first season at Oregon State, Robinson has led the Beavers to the fifth-best single season turnaround in Pac-10 history, guiding the squad to seven league wins after going winless in Pac-10 play a year ago.
The Beavers swept the Bay Area schools for the first time since the 1989-90 season.

Trio recognized by Pac-10
WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - OSU women's basketball seniors Brittney Davis and Mercedes Fox-Griffin and sophomore Talisa Rhea were all recognized by the Pacific-10 Conference Wednesday when the league announced its awards for the 2008-09 season.
Davis and Fox-Griffin both earned two honors in a vote by the league's coaches, while Rhea earned her second award in as many seasons. Davis was named to the All-Pac-10 Third Team and is honorable mention for the All-Defensive Team. Fox-Griffin was named to the All-Pac-10 Honorable Mention squad and its All-Defensive Team. Rhea, meanwhile, earned All-Pac-10 Honorable Mention honors as well.
