The 2009 ASOSU elections are nearing, and the official candidates that will appear on the ticket have applied and been chosen.

Jill Ferris will be running for ASOSU president with Chon Madrigal as her running mate, Jerred Taylor and Emanuel Magana will share a ticket for president and vice president and Chris Van Drimmelen and Kevin Schock will campaign together for the presidency and vice presidency, respectively.

The Elections Committee has been planning and meeting since February, when next year's candidates first began to apply. The next few months and weeks will see several election dates, all leading up to the General Election on April 22 and 23.

Campaigning for the 2009 spot for ASOSU president and vice president began officially on Monday, when the candidates' official platform statements were due. The primary debate will take place on April 14, followed by the general debate one week later, one day before the general election.

On May 21, ASOSU will hold its inauguration for whichever team is elected president and vice president for the next year and their staff.

Voting will be performed on Blackboard.
