The Beavers (16-16, 1-3 Pac-10) will begin the set against Stanford (31-2, 2-1) on Friday and move into a two-game set with Cal (25-9, 2-1) Saturday and Sunday.
The Beavers will be looking to pick up a few more Pac-10 wins after falling to No. 14 Arizona and No. 8 Arizona State last weekend.
"We have nothing to lose, so we just want to come out strong and play well," sophomore Erin Guzy said.
Sophomore catcher Audrey Roderfeld tore up the field and went into the record books with her 15th career home run against Arizona State on Saturday, Mar. 28. Roderfeld put out eight homers last season and has already hit seven this season, including four in one week over five games. Roderfeld also has 23 RBIs so far this season.
"Audrey keeps us going, and her hitting momentum is a great motivator for everyone," said freshman pitcher Paige Hall. "It keeps things exciting and fun."
Senior second baseman Paige Lowe trails close behind Roderfeld in the home run race with six this season and a batting average of .323 and 11 RBIs.
Junior outfielder Dani Chisholm is currently on a career-high eight-game hitting streak. Freshman pitcher Mary Claire Brenner was a perfect 2-2 on Sunday against the Sun Devils.
"I expect to see better pitching this weekend from Cal and Stanford compared to the Arizona schools," Hall said.
Last Wednesday, the Beavers swept Seattle in a pair of 8-0 games at home. The Beavers also tied the school record for most home runs in a single game on the March 25, hitting five in the second game of double header. The original record was set in 2003 against Portland State. As a whole, Oregon State has doubled its home run numbers in a week.
Oregon State's all-time record against Stanford is 22-33, and Stanford has won the last three meetings.
The leading hitter for Stanford is junior Alissa Haber with a .441 batting average and 49 hits, 39 runs, five home runs, three triples and 15 doubles. Haber leads the Cardinal in stolen bases on 10 of 11 attempts and she is one of the three outfielders that still remains errorless. Stanford is 2-0 on the road so far this season.
