The Oregon State women's softball team kicks back into Pac-10 gear this weekend as they face up against UCLA and the University of Washington at the OSU softball complex.

Oregon State (22-19, 3-6 Pac-10) are coming off two strong wins from a doubleheader against the Portland State Vikings Wednesday afternoon. The team has definitely built up some momentum in the last week, winning five of its last six games, four of which on the road.

Senior infielder and leadoff hitter Paige Lowe stands strong, leading the team with 24 runs on her .302 batting average and 126 at bats.

"It's a lot more fun to go out and play after you've won and you feel good about what you're doing," junior pitcher Kelly Dyer said.

Oregon State totaled 11 hits, four RBI and four runs over two games in its double header against the Vikings. Freshman pitcher Paige Hall was credited with the win in Oregon State's 2-1 victory in game one. Hall improved her seasonal record to 12-7. Dyer brought home 2-0 victory in the second game and improved her season record to 10-12.

Senior catcher Stefanie Ewing will go into the weekend's games with a .318 batting average, 12 runs, 26 RBI and one error on the season. Junior utility player Tarah Black's batting average has done nothing but improve over the last several games and she now sits with a .322 average, tallying 59 at bats, six runs, 19 hits and 10 RBI in 2009.

"We just need to focus on keeping our momentum through the weekend and getting back into conference play," Dyer said. "These are two excellent, top-ranked teams."

Friday's game will be against the No. 3 Bruins (29-8, 4-4 Pac-10). This is the first of three meets between UCLA and OSU in the 2009 season. In the 2008 season, the Beavers defeated the Bruins in the second game of the series, but the all-time record between the two schools is 10-75 in favor of the Bruins.

Senior pitcher for the Bruins, Megan Langenfeld, will be coming off back-to-back wins over Washington last weekend. Langenfeld suffered a mere one hit over the two games against the Huskies and is 6-0 thus far in the season with a 1.07 ERA over 58.2 innings.
