Rodriguez places
LINCOLN, Neb. - The No. 8 Oregon State gymnastics team finished fifth in the evening session of the NCAA Women's Gymnastics Championships and 11th overall Thursday night at Nebraska's Devaney Center.
Senior Tasha Smith, who had not been in a competitive lineup in 2009, took the floor and, as usual, delighted the crowd with her hip-hop dance routine and huge tumbling. In Smith's first and last floor routine of the year, she tallied an impressive 9.85.
Oregon State junior Mandi Rodriguez earned a spot on the podium on the floor exercise and vault in the NCAA Championship Individual Event Finals Saturday night. Rodriguez finished sixth on the floor and seventh on the vault.

Four All-Americans
LINCOLN, Neb. - Oregon State gymnasts Mandi Rodriguez, Jami Lanz, Jen Kesler and Tasha Smith have been announced as 2009 NCAA All-Americans. All four OSU gymnasts are repeat honorees, having earned All-American recognition in years past.
Rodriguez's three career first-team All-America honors puts her in a class of only four other OSU gymnasts to accomplish the feat: Joy Selig (7), Chari Knight (6), Mary Ayotte-Law (3) and Laurie Carter (3).

Watch Rhoderick
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Oregon State sophomore closer Kevin Rhoderick has been named to the Stopper of the Year Midseason Watch List, according to the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA).
Rhoderick, from Scottsdale, Ariz., is one of 42 players named to the watch list for the award, which is given annually to the nation's best collegiate reliever.
