If you are looking for a vegetarian-friendly, organic nourishing place to eat, then Café Yumm is it. Packed to capacity at lunch time, Café Yumm is a two-story organic café serving a variety of foods. Warm colors fill the restaurant, with rustic orange walls and highlights of yellow complementing the natural foods they serve.
They are serve breakfast from 8-11 a.m. and offer items such as the egg and veggie burger, which includes a plate of organic brown rice, the Original Yumm! Sauce, their Ginger-Garlic Veggie Burger, and scrambled tofu or eggs. Some of their other breakfast items include the Yumm!lette which comes with organic brown rice and your choice of eggs or tofu.
For the dinner and lunch menu the most popular dishes are the signature Yumm! Bowls. These uniquely crafted bowls come in eight different styles and three different sizes. The price range is pretty average for a café style restaurant ranges from $4.50 to $6.75.
The most famous of the bowls is the Original, which includes organic brown rice and organic black beans layered with their Orginal Yumm! Sauce and topped with organic salsa. This is a very delicious choice, although the Yumm! Sauce is definitely an acquired taste. As employee Kayla Durnham says, "You either really like the sauce or you hate it". In my opinion it has a very strong, unique taste that might deter people at first, but the type of flavor that leaves you craving more.
All of the bowls come topped with Tillamook cheddar cheese, diced tomatoes, fresh avocado slices, sour cream, black olives, and cilantro. A few of the other choices of bowls include the Yumm! Baby, which is served with no beans and comes with extra avocado which is a great choice for the avocado lover. Another daring option may be the Hot 'N' Jazzy Bowl, which comes with Jasmine Rice, Yumm! Sauce, organic red beans, and is topped with Jalapeño-Sesame salsa.
In addition to the signature bowls, Café Yumm offers specialties such as the Yumm! Bento or the Wild Salmon Burger. They also offer sandwiches, of which I would recommend the Avo & Cream Cheese, and for the veggie lover they offer the Deli Lama, which comes with all your favorite veggies and is topped with avocado.
Soups and salads are on the menu, with the option of a meal of soup, salad, and bread being available for a fair price. Café Yumm offers four soups daily, with two of the soups as a regular part of the menu.
The service was very friendly, and your meal is delivered to your table in a courteous and welcoming fashion. I would recommend Café Yumm for those organic-veggie lovers looking to dine casually in a warm welcoming environment.
