What I think

The Blazers' season is over, OSU's spring football game has passed and Cinco de Mayo is in the rear view mirror. Now that we are ready to move well into spring and summer sports, here is what I am thinking:
I think the Blazers had a very nice season. In fact, championship teams, historically, take it on the chin in their first playoff series. Check that off the list and look forward to many more bright seasons ahead.
I think the NHL playoffs are happening right now, right?
I think there are more soccer fans than there are hockey fans in the United States.
I think it's strange that some people like soccer but don't like hockey. Isn't that the same game, just played on grass?
I think this whole A-Rod book about his using steroids as a teenager is bunch of bunk. First of all, the author of the book is Selena Roberts. You remember her from the Duke Lacrosse scandal, right? Yeah, her story then wasn't exactly good journalism. Also, is she going to write a book about every teenager who has ever used an illegal substance - or just target A-Rod? Good luck writing books about all teenagers who ever tried marijuana in high school, Ms. Roberts. Let us know when you are done with those.
I think that Beaver football is headed for a nice season in 2009. Assuming Sean Canfield gets the starting nod, the quarterback position may be more solid than it has been in a while. With 'Quizz running it and Canfield winging it - the Beavers should win at least nine games this year.
I think it's kind of weird that we celebrate Cinco de Mayo in the United States. It's not celebrated in all of Mexico, but it's celebrated everywhere in America. What if only regions of our nation celebrated El Dia de Memoria (Memorial Day) but the entirety of Mexico celebrated the day with parties? That's strange.
I think it's nearly unbelievable that the National League record for home wins to start a season is only 11 - held by this year's Dodgers team.
