Playoffs boring?

The NBA Playoffs: where amazing doesn't happen. The 2009 playoffs have been, well, pretty pedestrian. Other than that historic series between the Chicago Bulls and Boston Celtics, these playoffs have been riddled with one-sided blowouts.

I don't remember a year quite like this, but then again, if we ultimately get what we want, then it doesn't really matter. What everyone wants is a Kobe vs. Lebron finals. It's setting up to be one of the most anticipated finals this decade. We had part of some pretty boring finals this decade with the Spurs, Pistons and Nets among the teams with no real luster or excitement attached to them.

A Kobe vs. Lebron final would be absolutely amazing to watch. The best two players in the league would go at each other with the best two supporting casts as well. So far, it looks like that's where we are headed.

The Lebrons have not lost yet in the playoffs, and no game has been close at all or in doubt. It's not just Lebron that's having a great playoff run either - it's the players who surround him, like Mo Williams, Delonte West and Zydrunas Ilgauskas, that has really pushed this team to new heights.

The Lakers have had a couple different hiccups along the path, but I think they are just going through the motions. Andrew Bynum sucking it up doesn't help matters, but I fully expect these two teams to progress all the way to the finals.

Let's take a look at the four second-round series going on at the moment.

Boston Celtics vs. Orlando Magic - Disclaimer: I personally don't like either of these teams, so a bias exists.

This series has been extremely boring. I mean, the Celtic's best player has been Eddie House. The Celtics have been a shell of themselves without Garnett. Without Ray Allen's amazing shots last series, they would have never progressed to the second round.

All of the games in the series have been decisive and nothing special has taken place. Heck, the most entertaining thing that has happened was Rafer Alston's slap in the head against House. That was hilarious. Alston treated him like his little kid - what was he thinking?
