It's astounding the kind of culture you can find in a small town like Corvallis.
Some people will use that fact to its fullest advantage. Those who are willing to look - especially downtown - will not be dissatisfied by what this city has in store for them. Grass Roots is one of these gems.
Walking down N.W. 2nd St., it's hard not to notice the unique culture that the small shops in this part of town have to offer.
From the bars to the pizza shops, the Majestic Theater and a small book and music store known as Grass Roots, few will be disappointed.
Grass Roots is not your average bookstore. It doesn't feature a vast chain-store like selection, however it has a special flair.
To make up for lacking a vast array of books, Grass Roots books come highly recommended by their informed staff to offer the best pieces of literature out there. The staff members are readers, just like their customers - and that's who they care about. Recommendations are made on most of the books by the entire staff and are carefully selected so that the customer knows the book they select will be an enjoyable one.
Grass Roots features a helpful staff, welcoming environment and an array of hidden goodies.
With the warm atmosphere and subtle music playing in the background, it's difficult not to explore Grass Roots. One could get lost for hours just browsing the book selection, sitting down with some poetry or fingering through the selection of local music.
The store is equipped with any genre of literature a person could want, including anything from fiction to spirituality and everything in between. They even have an extensive collection focused solely on the inner workings of becoming a writer, so you can feed your inner novelist for just a few dollars.
