Man arrested after groping residents in Corvallis
Richard Knotts has been charged with kidnapping, prostitution, attempted rape after groping women on campus

On Wednesday afternoon, Corvallis police arrested Kevin Richard Knotts, who was suspected of inappropriately touching and groping several women throughout the afternoon on and near campus.
At around 3:40, Corvallis police responded to a report that a woman who had been walking down the street on the sidewalk of the 700 block of N.W. 28th St. was approached and touched in a sexual manner by a man whom she did not know, who then grabbed her. The victim yelled, causing the man to flee.
Another incident involving a suspect who was described the same way was reported. The victim, another woman, reported that a man whom she did not know confronted her in the 400 block of N.W. 26th St.
She said that the man grabbed her, touched her inappropriately, and offered to pay her for a sexual favor. The victim refused and the man fled once again.
According to a news release from the Corvallis Police Department, these incidents occurred within minutes of each other.
A third incident was also reported that allegedly occurred at around 10 a.m. the same day. As police investigated the earlier incidents and contacted people who met the descriptions of the suspect, a report was filed that a man tried to lure a woman near Peavy Hall toward his vehicle.
According to the news release, none of these women were injured and no weapons were used in any of these incidents.
The suspect was later arrested by Corvallis Police and identified as Kevin Richard Knotts, 20. He is being charged with kidnapping, prostitution, attempted rape and harassment.
