As an employee of GCA, I would like to state that I was greatly offended by the misinformed Ms. Bishops' alleged "expose" of our small, sub-contracted custodial company's policies ["Custodial company faces conflict in first year at OSU," May 28 issue of The Daily Barometer]. Additionally, the idea that she intends to make this a series of articles annoys me even more.

What she doesn't know is that GCA was quite literally flooded with complaints about "Crazy Dave" (as he is known amongst some employees) Pickray before they finally took action and fired him. What Ms. Bishop doesn't know is that not one single employee of GCA thinks his firing was unjust. What Ms. Bishop doesn't know is that it is even the opinion of one manager, who shall remain nameless, that "the company waited too long to fire him." The reason GCA came "highly recommended" is that they are a good, honest company. Nothing they have done since getting this contract negates that.

I should also like to inform you that aside from being an employed custodian of GCA, I am also a union steward for Rogers Key Station. Although I have locked horns with management on a few issues, we have always come to an amicable resolution. I would advise you, in the interest of professionalism, to back off from this "expose," as it is nothing but hot air.
