After only their third live performance, Pseudoboss was declared the winner of this year's MUPC-sponsored Battle of the Bands competition last Friday night.

Pseudoboss consists of lead vocalist Noah Stroup, lead guitarist Connor O'Shea, drummer Chris Harver and guitarist Matt Jager.

The band members were not at all expecting to clinch the first place spot.

"We were absolutely shocked," Stroup said.

"We felt that we played pretty well, but we didn't know if it was enough to win. And it's also hard to tell what the judges like and are looking for."

Pseudoboss was invited to perform for a second night in the MU Quad at the Flat Tail Festival as a result of winning the Battle of the Bands.

"We're hoping to build off of this third show and gain momentum for more shows in the future," Stroup added.

Coming in second place was metal band Of Saints and Shadows, featuring vocalist Craig Bidiman, bassist Evan Connet, guitarists Ben Doron and Nate Kintz and drummer Dylan Hallyburton. The band covered Poker Face by Lady Gaga.
